The future of infrared imaging technology is here

L-3 Cincinnati Electronics (CE) has revolutionized the IR industry by developing the first and only full high-definition (HD) sensor for long-range IR surveillance. This new HD sensor is the first such component to be incorporated into a fully-integrated long-range camera system.

CE has raised the bar in sensor performance, enabling the user to perform surveillance over a much wider geographic area than ever before. The new HD sensor offers images with 1,280 x 1,024 pixels, which represent a dramatic step up from “standard definition” sensors which only offer 640 x 480 pixels. By incorporating the new HD sensor into a camera system, an operator can not only detect potential threats at much greater distances, but can zoom in on areas of interest with much greater image clarity. With standard definition sensors, you can only zoom in so far, as the image becomes pixilated and unrecognizable.

With true HD, all images provide maximum clarity and detail, providing the user an experience that can’t be achieved with a standard definition system.
