The Lightweight Laser Designator Rangefinder (LLDR) provides 24-hour precision target location and designation for the modern, digitized battlefield. An advanced version of CE’s highly successful NightConqueror thermal imager serves as the night vision module in Northrop Grumman’s LLDR.

CE’s laser “SeeSpot” provides state-of-the-art target acquisition and designation. CE lets users view the designating laser spot and the high-definition thermal infrared image simultaneously! This advanced technology permits a broader range of tactics, techniques, and missions for the combat soldier so equipped. The "SeeSpot" will also support reconnaissance, surveillance, and target acquisition for next-generation munitions delivery.

This unique system architecture allows the operator to view the scene unaffected by battlefield obscurants (fog, smoke) or atmospheric clutter, even in high humidity. Compact, lightweight, and portable, it provides laser imaging in excess of 5 km. Applications include:

• Bore sight confirmation, crew weapons
• Laser imaging/munitions delivery
• Wide area situational awareness
• Target identification/recognition/acquisition
• Forward fire support
