MWIR Cooled Thermal Imagers

L3 Cincinnati Electronics’ high-performance cooled mid-wave (3.5 – 5.0 µm) IR imagers are based on our patented InSb focal plane array architecture. Ideal for all combat conditions, L3 Cincinnati Electronics technology improves situational awareness in combat intelligence, sighting & tracking systems, threat deterrence and perimeter & border security with all-weather observation, day or night. These IR sensors can be utilized in urban, rural and remote situations where there are extreme climatic and terrain conditions. Well-suited for fixed or portable payloads, these imaging systems offer a substantially lower total life-cycle cost in comparison to other commercial IR imaging sensors.

 

WALRSS

The Wide-Area Long-Range Surveillance Sensor (WALRSS) is a cooled, highly sensitive mid-wave IR camera designed for long-range surveillance and security applications. WALRSS is offered in two configurations, providing scalability to user requirements. An L3 Cincinnati Electronics (L3 CE) designed and fabricated 640 x 512 InSb Mid-wave Infrared (MWIR) sensor, mated with a continuous zoom lens and our enhanced image processing features, allowing the user to achieve man-detection capability at ranges well beyond 20 km. WALRSS HD

The high-definition variant of the Wide Area, Long-Range Surveillance Sensor (WALRSS) is a cooled, highly sensitive mid-wave IR camera with 4 times the number of pixels as the standard definition 640 x 512. Designed for long-range surveillance and security applications, WALRSS HD puts more pixels on target and provides substantially sharper imagery with the highest possible detail, making analysis more accurate and reliable. This is an L3 Cincinnati Electronics (L3 CE) designed and fabricated 1,280 x 1,024 reticulated InSb Mid-wave Infrared (MWIR) sensor, mated with a continuous zoom 200 to 1,200 mm lens and our enhanced image processing features, allowing the user to achieve man-detection capability at ranges beyond 30 km. NightConqueror CMI

NightConqueror 640 100/500

NightWarrior 640

Great things come in small packages! NightWarrior 640 is one of the smallest, high-resolution (640 x 512) Mid-Wave Infrared (MWIR) cooled cameras in the world. Based upon our 15-micron pitch, High-Operating Temperature (HOT) MWIR Focal Plane Array (FPA) technology, this high-performance camera delivers superior imaging quality for systems that could previously only use uncooled thermal imagers. Ideally suited for Size, Weight and Power (SWaP) sensitive air, sea and land platforms, it is designed for easy integration into a variety of applications, including electro-optical payloads, weapon sights, handhelds, remote weapon stations, and tactical UAS/UAV sensor systems. NightWarrior 640 consists of an Integrated Detector/Dewar/Cooler Assembly (IDCA) and camera electronics with L3 Cincinnati Electronics (L3 CE) patented image enhancement processing. NightConqueror HD

L3 Cincinnati Electronics (L3 CE) NightConqueror HD (High-Definition) Infrared Imaging Engine is a high-definition thermal imager with true megapixel resolution that can be configured to fit air, sea and land platforms. The advanced 1,280 x 1,024 Focal Plane Array (FPA) with a reduced (15-micron) pixel pitch is integrated into a compact, robust sensor module that offers flexibility and reliability for applications where extreme performance is critical.
