Combat Propulsion Systems is proud to present its latest achievement to the AVDS-1790 series diesel engine family, the AVDS-1790 1500 horsepower diesel engine.

Designed, developed and built in Muskegon, MI, the AVDS-1790 1500 horsepower engine retains the robust design and reliability of the battle-proven core AVDS-1790 series and integrates improved technology. These technologies include electronic high-pressure common rail fuel injection with embedded diagnostics, improved turbocharging with integral wastegates, increased capacity air-to-air aftercooling and engine oil-heat exchangers.

The AVDS-1790 series diesel engine family is comprised of 750, 950, 1050, 1200 and now 1500 horsepower-rated versions. AVDS-1790 advantages include affordability, commonality, demonstrated reliability and durability, increased fuel efficiency, reduced operation and support costs, easy integration, lower costs throughout the total life cycle, common depot procedures and spare parts for worldwide logistics support.

Today, there are more than 20,000 AVDS engines in operation around the world. CPS believes that customers will be very receptive to an affordable, 1500 horsepower diesel engine based on the proven AVDS-1790 series diesel engine family. The 1500 has a very low acquisition cost, and in some cases, is equal to the cost of refurbishing existing engines.

Fuel consumption and resupply are also key factors in U.S. Army overseas operations. With the procurement and installation of new common fuel-efficient AVDS-1790 1500 horsepower engines to our current combat vehicle fleets, CPS can help improve our customers' warfighting capability while dramatically reducing O&S costs.
