The HMPT-1000 is an advanced, low-profile,
continuously variable ratio transmission with a power density of 40 hp/ft3.
A highly advanced electronic controller provides precise, automatic
scheduling of engine speed and transmission ratio for optimal fuel
efficiency. In addition to its higher power density and lower silhouette
the HMPT-1000 design allows faster vehicle acceleration, improved mobility,
better steerability, and easier maintenance.
