L-3 Awarded $52 Million Contract by U.S. Army

MUSKEGON, Michigan, November 5, 2008 – L-3 Communications, Combat Propulsion Systems (CPS) has been awarded an initial $52 million contract to provide transmissions for the Bradley Fighting Vehicle. The Transmission HMPT Operational Reliability (THOR) contract is a five-year fixed price contract with an option for five years.

Work will be performed at three locations: L-3 CPS in Muskegon, Michigan, Red River Army Depot in Texarkana, Texas, and David Brown Engineering in Huddersfield, U.K.  The program establishes L-3 CPS as the Product Support Integrator (PSI) with responsibility for all aspects of the transmission program, including material procurement, vendor and parts qualification, process improvements, engineering, field support, quality and reliability.
