Facilities

L-3 Datron’s facility in Simi Valley was designed and built in December of 1984 to our specifications.  The business arena in which Datron has operated for the past 40 years has dictated the flexibility and efficiency inherent in our facility design to enable us to repeatedly deliver proven systems while accommodating growth trends in our industry.

Our nine acre facility is currently supporting the design, manufacture and test of a number of military and commercial programs, while maintaining dedicated areas for quality inspection and full compliance with environmental regulations.  All operations are located under one roof, facilitating easy, efficient communication.  Our building is over 110,000 square feet in size, including 62,000 square feet of office space and 50,000 square feet for manufacturing and test, with on-site environmental and anechoic chambers, vibration facilities and a secure high bay assembly area.

The location of departments within the building allows the least amount of movement between interacting organizations.  Our high speed, state-of-the-art IT infrastructure features, dedicated and secure LAN networks, in-facility servers and back-up power generators all ensure data continuity. 

An additional 67,000 square feet of outdoor manufacturing area is used for final assembly, integration, and test.  Five outdoor assembly pads with underground utilities and two pads for the assembly of large antennas complete our state‑of‑the‑art outdoor manufacturing and test area.  In addition, we have three outdoor instrumented, on‑site antenna test ranges, ranging in distance from 750 feet to 6,000 feet, protected for the foreseeable future by Simi Valley’s Master Growth Plan.
