L-3 Corporation

Quality Standards

L-3 Datron’s Quality Management System (QMS) has evolved from a MIL-Q-9858A/MIL-I-45208 environment to ISO Standard 9001:2008. Since ISO certification issuance December 1999, our QMS has successfully maintained ISO 9001 registration. L-3 Datron is registered with certificate number 99-1648 and has operated as an approved U.S. and International Government supplier for over 40 years.

L-3 Datron’s QMS provides customers with consistency through a total quality philosophy. Quality is more than a department; it is a state of mind involved in every process throughout the company and carries with it a commitment to continuous improvement. Our philosophy is that quality is everyone’s responsibility, not just the responsibility of the company’s Quality Assurance organization.

L-3 Datron’s QMS is an integrated system which translates customer, corporate and division requirements into compliant policies, procedures, and work instructions and communicates the information to employees in a consistent, controlled manner. All quality activities are controlled by our Quality Policy Manual, M-01; Quality Procedure Manual, M-02 , and the detailed work instructions generated by each department.  These procedures regulate the processes for our key process areas; Contracts, Program Management, Design Engineering, Production Control, Purchasing, Manufacturing, Test & Integration, Test Engineering and Quality Assurance.

In addition, the QMS contains the fabrication/repair inspection system requirements for those products manufactured under FAA Parts Manufacturer Approval (PMA) in accordance with 14 CFR Part 21, Subpart K, paragraph 303(h)(1-9) and Repair Station under FAR Part 145; certificate number D93R427Y.

Quality records are maintained for ten years.  All testing and measuring equipment is currently calibrated per ISO 10012 & ANSI/NCSL Z540-1.3 and traceable to NIST.
