L-3 FOS has successfully met the challenge of serving the special needs of our customers for more than half a century. We began with the manufacture of mechanical precision watch movements which precipitated our entrance into the demanding arena of producing sophisticated munitions fuzes and more recently into the management and integration of ordnance systems for the U.S. Department of Defense.
We are ordnance systems integrators and fuzing experts for tube-launched, air-dropped, infantry-employed and missile-driven ordnance products for the U.S. and our international military allies. We are world-class designers, developers and manufacturers of fuzing, safety & arming devices and ignition safety devices for our armed forces and prime military contractors.
L-3 FOS continues to improve fuzing technology to meet the expanding requirements of current and future weapons systems. L-3 FOS led the development of Electronic Safety & Arming Devices (ESADs) for conventional weapons by certifying the first ESAD for the Army Tactical Missile System (ATACMS) program. We have produced over 45 million electro-mechanical and mechanical fuzes to support numerous artillery, mortar, bomb, tank, rocket and missile systems.
L-3 FOS develops and produces the state-of-the-art proximity fuzes that enable high-speed, high-accuracy, extreme environment and low-cost Height of Burst (HOB) sensors for all types of weapons. We provide systems management and integration of military ammunition and related products, including large- caliber tank ammunition, artillery ammunitions and close-combat systems.
Our history is built on precision and reliability and our future will be built on providing quality solutions that deliver positive results. L-3 FOS is capable of applying all facets of state-of-the-art technologies for the design and manufacturing of fuzing and ordnance-related products. |
