L-3 FOS’ manufacturing facilities are located on a 105-acre site near Cincinnati, OH. Built in 1970, these facilities cover 236,000 square feet (nearly 5.5 acres) of space and were specifically built to accommodate the demanding quality and safety requirements of fuzing and ordnance manufacturing.
L-3 FOS’ Cincinnati plant is AS9100 and ISO 9001 certified. This plant contains key safety features, such as barrier-protected explosive loading areas and Radio Frequency (RF)-shielded static-free screen rooms for the safe handling of sensitive electro-explosive devices. A six-bay concrete bunker is also located on the property for storing explosives. These facilities are approved by the Armed Service Explosive Safety Board of the Department of Defense (DoD). L-3 FOS also holds a SECRET facility clearance for its Cincinnati site.
L-3 FOS manages a highly flexible manufacturing facility capable of manufacturing a variety of products from run rates of more than 40,000 units of a specific product per month down to a few custom units for development, design, or test efforts. To meet total customer demands, L-3 FOS can ramp up to manufacture more than 200,000 units of products each month. Unless specifically designated for fabrication by research or design engineers, all products are built by manufacturing specialists on equipment located at the Cincinnati site. |
