L-3 Nautronix (formerly HSA Systems) established a hydrographic data production and maintenance capability in 1995 in response to an increased demand for authorised digital navigation products to be supplied by the Australian and International Hydrographic Organisations.

Based in the University of Wollongong's Innovation Campus in Wollongong, Australia, the L-3 Nautronix Geospatial Group is a dedicated unit of professionals passionate about their role in this industry.

The Geospatial Group’s core activity is the production and maintenance of hydrographic navigation products involving a range of services spanning:

The storage and maintenance of the Australian Hydrographic Office RAN portfolio of commercial
and military charts,
The compilation of new nautical paper and digital charts,
